Link Logistics Launches Three New ERGs in 2024

At Link Logistics, we strive to make an enduring positive impact inside and outside the firm. Our employee resource group (ERG) program is one way we are cultivating a diverse workforce where every voice is valued, every perspective is respected and every individual feels empowered to contribute authentically. ERGs are a key resource for promoting awareness and creating supportive communities for employees as we foster an inclusive culture.

The Social Impact department has been building processes, programming and tools that make starting and leading an ERG for any employee at the firm easier and more effective. In 2024, this effort led to the expansion of our ERG program to five total groups with the addition of three new communities:

  • EMRG: On Juneteenth, we launched the Ebony Multicultural Resource Group (EMRG), which supports and champions Link Logistics colleagues from the Black/African diaspora by offering career development, community building, recruitment and education opportunities. Nearly 300 of our team members attended EMRG’s first virtual event, which invited a group of panelists to share their experiences navigating the workplace as Black professionals.
  • ¡HOLA!: Following our National Latinx Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in September and October, we introduced the Hispanic Organization for Latino Advancement (¡HOLA!). The group hosted events at our New York City, Chicago and Irvine offices to honor the rich heritage of the Hispanic and Latinx communities. Our team members enjoyed meals catered by Hispanic-owned restaurants, participated in themed trivia and even took salsa dance lessons to join the festivities.
  • ProVet: As we recognized former U.S. service members on Veterans Day, we debuted ProVet, an ERG dedicated to our firm’s Veteran and military family team members. (The group’s full name is Programming, Resources, and Opportunities for Veteran Employees and Team.) More than 300 Link employees attended the first ProVet event, which featured a panel of former service members who shared their experiences navigating the workforce after transitioning to civilian life.

EMRG, ¡HOLA! and ProVet join two preexisting Link Logistics ERGs:

  • Ascend: Our first ERG, launched in 2021, is dedicated to supporting women at the firm through personal and professional development and mentorship opportunities.
  • Pride: Launched in 2023, Pride is focused on supporting LGBTQIA+ employees and allies through career development, education and community building.

More than 66 percent of Link Logistics employees are engaged in at least one of the firm’s ERGs.

“It is inspiring to witness the momentum of our broader ERG community,” said Zachary Banks, a Pride board member and incoming chair of the group. “Every ERG learns from one another as we strengthen our collective impact across the company.”

The boards of all five ERGs and their executive sponsors recently convened for the 2024 ERG Summit in Dallas to build community and plan programming together for 2025.

“Our employee resource groups are at the heart of our commitment to building an inclusive workplace by not only helping support members but also educating colleagues across the firm,” said Link Logistics CAO Sonya A. Huffman. “Attending the recent ERG Summit with over 30 colleagues leading in their defined roles and beyond was an uplifting experience. Their dedication to building active communities and fostering meaningful allyship is driving real impact.”
